About Our Instant Shower Installation Service

Access to reliable hot water is a daily necessity, and in Kenya — where many properties are not connected to a central boiler — an electric instant shower or storage water heater is the most practical and energy-efficient solution for most households. Andrex Electricals Systems provides professional supply and installation of all types of electric shower units, instant geysers, and storage water heaters, ensuring every installation is carried out safely, correctly wired on a dedicated circuit, and fully compliant with Part P electrical regulations and bathroom wiring safety requirements.

Instant Electric Showers

An instant electric shower heats water on demand as it flows through the unit, meaning you never run out of hot water and there is no waiting for a tank to heat up. We supply and install instant electric showers from leading brands including Ariston, Rheem, EcoSmart, and Lorenzetti, in a range of power ratings from 5.5kW up to 10.8kW to suit different water pressure conditions. Choosing the correct kW rating for your water pressure is critical — too low and the shower will be lukewarm; too high and the unit may not reach the required temperature. We assess your water pressure and flow rate before recommending the appropriate unit, ensuring you get the best possible shower performance.

Dedicated Circuits, MCBs & Isolator Switches

Electric shower units draw a significant amount of current — typically between 25 and 45 amps depending on the power rating — and this current must be supplied via a correctly sized dedicated circuit running directly from the distribution board. We install the dedicated circuit cable, size the MCB (miniature circuit breaker) appropriately for the shower load, and fit a double-pole isolator switch in an accessible position outside the bathroom so the shower can be safely isolated without going to the DB. All bathroom wiring is carried out in accordance with the special location requirements for zones 0, 1, and 2, using IP-rated fittings and materials appropriate for wet area installations.

Storage Geysers & Water Heaters

Storage water heaters — commonly called geysers — heat and store a volume of hot water ready for use, and are ideal for applications where multiple outlets need hot water simultaneously, such as a bathroom and kitchen. We install storage geysers ranging from 10-litre under-sink units to 200-litre overhead tanks, including all associated wiring, thermostat connections, pressure relief valve plumbing, and insulation. We also replace failing heating elements and thermostats in existing geysers — a cost-effective alternative to replacing the entire unit when the tank itself is still in good condition.

Bathroom Safety: Earth Bonding & RCD Protection

Bathrooms are the highest-risk electrical environment in any building because of the combination of electricity, water, and the human body in close proximity. Correct equipotential bonding of all exposed metal parts — including water supply pipes, waste pipes, shower trays, and metal light fittings — is essential to prevent dangerous potential differences developing between surfaces that a person could simultaneously touch. We carry out all supplementary bonding required by regulation, and ensure every bathroom circuit is protected by an RCD (residual current device) that will disconnect the supply within milliseconds in the event of an earth fault — providing life-saving protection against electrocution.
